Save the Amazon rainforest

Students researched ideas to save the Amazon rainforest. Many students presented their ideas using powerpoint, posters and songs. One group even created their own wikisite!



Presidential Inauguration: A Co-Teaching Lesson for 5th and 6th Grade

Teachers in the 5th and 6th grade came together for a historical moment in time. Students were shown a powerpoint presentation about Barack Obama. Discussions focused on Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr, Civil Rights and the impact of Barack Obama becoming the first African American President of the United States of America. Students also watched the Inauguration and received a copy of Obama's speech. Student were then asked to write a letter to the President explaining what it meant for their family to be part of history and what they would like the President to do for the country. The students wrote amazing letters, many voiced excitement, joy and hope for the future of our country!
